“On Sunday we started the morning off early and drove about 45 minutes to the middle of nowhere to a beautiful Lake in what looks like the dessert. There we were able to indulge in some breakfast and coffee. Next we went to Spain’s largest dam named la Almendra named after the village nearby. This made a very good photo opportunity then we went on a short walk to lunch and reach a lake near which we had a picnic. Most of us were able to swim, a very refreshing moment as the water was especially fresh.
The next destination was the Canyon area where the river Duero separates Spain and Portugal. We all got in kayaks and went quite a bit down the river until we were able to swim from country to country. The water was very refreshing considering it was incredibly hot out. We spent about two and a half hours there before boarding the bus and driving an hour and 45 minutes back to Salamanca. This excursion with all the friends was very fun and so far my favorite.”
