Of special note is our very own MySchoolDayAbroad™ program. This is a Magellan Study Abroad exclusive! Most winter or spring break school trips include a half-day or full-day visit to a middle school or high school and activities with local students. This day will include class visits, art workshops, and in most cases your students will even be able to share a meal over lunch at their in-house cafeteria! It is truly a great way to immerse themselves among peers from their host country.
ISTANBUL and WESTERN TURKEY (9 DAYS) NEW!
This trip allows students to experience the best Turkey has to offer. We will discover Istanbul, the ancient Constantinople for the first two days followed by an excursion into the Western Coast of the country. We will visit the ruins of Troy, the city of Pergamon and its amazing Acropolis with unique views. In this same city you will enjoy a school visit and activities with local penpals you have been corresponding with as part of our My School Day Abroad program. After this, Ephesus will be the next stop on the map. Our tour will include the Library of Celsius, the Temple of Hadrian, the Agora, the Roman Baths, and the fantastic Greco-Roman theater where St. Paul preached. We then visit the remains of the Temple of Artemis, which was considered one of the Seven Wonders of the World. We will spend our last day of this eye opening tour in the coastal city of Kusadasi where we will enjoy a relaxing time and visit the local bazaar for an opportunity to purchase some one-of-a-kind souvenirs.

BARCELONA, ANDALUCIA, and MADRID (9 or 12 DAYS)
Discover Spain in an incredible historical journey that will lead you from the vibrant capital of Catalunya/Cataluña to the autonomous region of Andalucia and the Spanish capital of Madrid. Explore the vibrant and modern Barcelona – the cosmopolitan capital of Cataluña – as we visit the Picasso and Dali museums, admire the Catedral Basílica and much more! As we continue our sojourn through Andalucia, we will walk through Sevilla’s cobbled streets as we tour the Barrio de Santa Cruz, the Alcázar Palace and Granada’s Alhambra Palace. The journey ends in Madrid with key visits including the Royal Palace and the Prado and Reina Sofia museums.

Our journey begins in Madrid, the capital of Spain. Enjoy the tapas and paella and Madrid’s laid-back atmosphere! Our next stop will be Lisbon, Europe’s smallest capital though it was once the center of a huge empire. Lively plazas, the Castle of Saint George, Jeronimos Monastery, the Tower of Belem, the World Heritage Site of Sintra and more await you!

MADRID, SEVILLA and COSTA DEL SOL (8 DAYS)
Immerse yourself in Spanish culture as we embark on a journey that will take you from Madrid through Sevilla to Málaga. Appreciate world renowned paintings in the Spanish capital before heading off to the imposing Alcázar Palace in Sevilla — the artistic, cultural, and financial capital of southern Spain. Situated in the Autonomous region of Andalucia, Málaga sits on the Costa del Sol, 150 kilometers away from North Africa. Witness the passing of various conquerors towns through the Alcazaba (military fortification of Islamic Spain) and the Cathedral and the Episcopal palace (conquered in 1487 by Catholic kings). Spend three incredible days at an exquisite resort by the warm Mediterranean Sea!

Looking for adventure? Arrive in San José and visit the Teatro Nacional and Museo del Oro. Make the most of the Puerto Viejo Environmental Tour at the Earth University Foundation in Guacimo, the OTS (Organization for Tropical Studies) and La Selva Biological. Our next stops will take us to a grand volcano at the Arenal National Park, the Caño Negro Wildlife Refuge, Baldi Hotspring and the town of Santa Elena in Monteverde. After all these activities, we will get the chance to relax in the lavish Parque Nacional de Manuel Antonio. Passionate about nature and wildlife? This trip is for you.

BRITTANY and NORMANDY (10 DAYS)
We will begin this emotional voyage in Paris as you visit the principal monuments and take time to walk around Saint-Michel and the Latin Quarter where all the students of Paris meet for a coffee or dinner. Visit Paris by night as we embark on a night cruise through the Seine, pass Notre Dame, and the French “Statue de la Liberté”. We tour the beautiful Château de Versailles which has just been refurbished and unwind in Montmatre –a romantic place populated by artists- and walk to the Sacré Coeur: remember the scene in the movie Amélie Poulain?
We will next take the high speed train (TGV) to Rennes where we will gormandize mouthwatering crêpes! The next part of our journey will be filled with emotions as we stop in Saint-Malo, Caen, Normandy’s D-Day beaches and WWII memorials. Relax during our tour around the famous coastal village of Honfleur and a typical outdoors market. Savor a typical country diner in a local auberge before returning home.

Paris: The most visited city in world! Indulge yourself in some shopping and cuisine à la Française, sit at the terrace of a café on the famous Champs-Elysées, and taste the real croissant “pur beurre”! Key visits will include the Musée du Louvre and its Mona Lisa, the Tour Eiffel, Notre Dame cathedral, the Arc de Triomphe and the Château de Versailles. Take the fast train to the South of France, “la Provence,” where we will stop in Aix-en-Provence, Cannes (famous for the film festival), Nice and Monaco. Imagine discovering Paris and the Côte d’Azur in one same trip! A dream trip come true?

PARIS and LONDON (8 DAYS)
Paris: the “City of lights”. Enjoy a tour of the famous Musée du Louvre as we discover the original paintings of the Venus de Milo, the Victory of Samothrace and the Mona Lisa. Take a strolll on the Champs Elysées and indulge in some French “gastronomie.” Next, we take the Eurostar: a train that will take you from Paris to London- under the channel tunnel. As you arrive in London, the most international city, prepare yourself for some adventure! In the city of entertainment, you will explore the west end, the east end, and soho. You will get a chance to gaze at Buckingham Palace, see double-decker busses, visit Harrod’s, and go see the National Portrait Gallery in Trafalgar Square, famous for Nelson’s column and it’s friendly pigeons.

PARIS and THE LOIRE VALLEY (8 DAYS)
Prepare yourself for a trip in the footsteps of the great Kings of France! During your stay in Paris you will have the opportunity to visit the Palais Royal/Musée du Louvre and the Chateau de Versailles, home of Louis XIV and the French monarchy before their removal from power during the Revolution in 1789. Pack your bags and mount the high speed train to Tours to reach the Loire Valley which boasts castles dating from the Renaissance period. Visits will include the Château de Chambord built for King Francois I as a hunting lodge, the Château de Chenonceau (the Ladies’ Castle) built in 1513, the beautifully furnished (17th century) Château de Cheverny and the somptuous Château Azay-le-Rideau.

Make the most of a short escapade to Greece, a beautiful modern country that has preserved many monuments that showcase its rich history. Arrive in Athens, the capital of Greece, and tour the breath-taking site of the Acropolis to admire the Parthenon, the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike and the Erechtheion with its Porch of Maidens. You will then stop in Olympia, Delphi and Kalambaka where you will trek to monasteries of the Byzantine era that seem to be suspended in mid-air. Take the ferry to reach the magnificent island of Santorini then Paros and its quaint villages. You will remember the view of the sunset and panorama forever -as well as the food!

Begin your adventure in romantic Venice as you tour St Mark’s Square, the Rialto Bridge, and the Doge’s Palace. Transfer to Florence, home of the Medici and a symbol of the Italian Renaissance. Visit landmarks such as the Cathedral, the Duomo, the Uffizi Gallery and the Ponte Vecchio. Arrive in Rome, the Eternal City and capital of Italy where pagan symbolism and Christianity intermingle. Walk through the Coliseum, the Museum of the Vatican and the Roman Forum. Depart for Southern Italy to reach Naples, the third-largest city in Italy, rich in history and traditions with its own cuisine and dialect. Before taking a boat as we head towards the gorgeous island of Capri, visit Pompei – the most fascinating archeological site in the world! No need to mention that you will relish the pasta, pizza and gelato!
